The 19th London battalion went to France in March, 1915 and in May of that year they became part of 141 Brigade, 47th Division. During April, 1915 they went underwent training, which included, from 9th to 15th April, an introduction to trench warfare near Bethune. William Wright became the battalion’s first fatality when he was killed on 12th April. |
